READERS’ THEATER CLUB MEMBERSHIP(RTCM) 

OR

READERS’ THEATER ACTORS (RTA) WORKSHOP APPLICATION

 

What follows is our expectations for readers’ theater club.

Please read this page and sign the bottom before turning you application.

Ø  Readers’ theater actors are expected to attend an office and training session. These sessions will be on mid may date and times to be determined. These sessions are mandatory before stepping into a classroom.

Ø  Readers’ theater actors will be given a summer schedule, either on or before your training sessions; actors are expected to work all days. If changes occur you need to inform management immediately in written form. Please arrive 15 minutes before you class is scheduled to start.

Ø  Readers’ theater actors (RTA) are expected to dress appropriately for work, RTA does not have a dress code, however, we do dress in a manner that allows us to work with the students without distraction from our outfit. Dress comfortably to move about, our classes are with children of all ages.

Ø  When working with students/ co – actors please be aware that you are a role model, everything you do or say while RTA influences our students and represents our theatre. While here you are an ambassador for RTA.

Ø  RTA will be given a lunch break for any shift over 4 hours of work, you may bring a snack or lunch to work with you at any point and do have access to the RTC fridge.

Ø  RTA are expected to be available for as many weeks of summer as they can be, please list your conflicts with you application. RTA should commit to helping, in some way, for 5 of the 8-week summer

Ø  RTCM should be available for our high attendance camps, RTCM need to be available for the final performance at summer end,

Ø  RTC will be respectful of their fellow RTA and the employees of Hansa Foundation Trust (HFT), if a problem occurs, please speak with an HFT member to assist you.

Ø  RTA are expected to attend a weekly meeting; in which we will catch up on the weekly happening, go over further training, and be notified of any schedule changes. These meetings will be on Wednesday’s afternoon 4pm. These meetings are not optional.

 

·       The Workshop Management Committee

The Workshop Management Committee will be the final authority and its decision shall abide to all (committee members, volunteers and actors). The Workshop Management Committee will report their findings to the Workshop Management Committee, and keep a record of all Incident Forms. For the smooth functioning of the workshop/show the workshop director/in-charge can take temporary measures.  Discipline measures taken should be included in a report, and referred to the Workshop Management Committee, without any delay.

Code of Conduct

Yes, it is mandatory……….

It is the primary goal of the HANSA FOUNDATION TRUST AND ITS BRANCHES that everyone associated with our TRUST, CLUB, SCHOOL, LANGUAGE CENTER, HEALING SESSIONS has a positive experience. To promote a safe, respectful and harmonious working environment for all volunteers and patrons associated with the HANSA FOUNDATION TRUST.

 

Applies to all……….

All Members, Volunteers, Healers and Actors who are engaged in any HFT's activity (ie- HFT, RTCM RTA members), or who are representing the HFT in the community.

 

BE CARING

1) The participants are expected to treat all with dignity, respect and cordiality in public or at work.

        Participants should: -

Ø  Be balanced, give space to everyone to express.

Ø  Report to the senior or code of conduct committee to neutralize any issue or misconduct.

Ø  Respect work-space (Any workshop/Trust/School property or matter shouldn’t be publicised)   

Ø  Have the permission to use material or click or share the photos of other/s   

Ø  Be helpful and boost-up the team’s morale

Ø  Avoid the mobile (put it on silent mode) or side-talks during the workshop or performance

Ø  Performance or stage elements should be kept in order or place, is not for personal use

Ø  We are bound to provide healthy atmosphere, be silent, keep smoke free air, chew words not gums, carry a smile, use dustbin, have vegetarian food in workplace.    

Ø  maintain the workplace and its property (stage, off-stage, front sage, props or set etc.). 

Ø  Maintain the break time to have food provided or carried at specific dining zone.

 

2) Be professional and be creative .......  

Ø  Maintain the time-line (Reporting, Rehearsal, Submissions, Clues and Shows)  

Ø  Inform or discuss with the team to clear-up your point of view  

Ø  listen quietly and respect others point of view  

Ø  be soft and respectful

Ø  mend your conduct at stage, during rehearsal, green room and at public areas

Ø  Protect yourself, avoid any direct contact during any mishappening.

Ø  Inform the managing committee in case of any suspicious and unlawful act/happening



Violations

Creative people are the most responsible members of the society, they are the living mirrors and believe in correct behaviour and respectful to nature, in case of any misconduct or mishappening the actor or member should report to  

- the workshop director OR directly to the RTC Chief In-charge OR the workshop management committee. This report will become part of the RTAWs records.

When a violation of the Code is reported, consequences could include:

Ø  Mediated meeting with the people involved/Being asked to leave the rehearsal or performance

Ø  Receiving an official warning/Paying for damages/Removal from a show

Ø  Removal from the membership list for a defined period of time/Removal from the membership list permanently
